Unmatched Luxury Arrives with the 2020 BMW X5
This high-class luxury SUV flaunts versatility by smoothly navigating stop-and-go city driving and easily handling the open road. The 2020 BMW X5 interior is even bigger than last year's complete redesign, now with a multitude of safety features and technologies to make driving the new X5 a pleasure.
With strong performance, a luxurious interior, and plenty of space to spread out, the 2020 BMW X5 offers motivation to upgrade to the newest model. Test-drive the fourth-generation 2020 BMW X5 today at Capital BMW.
All of the Available Trims
BMW drivers have a range of options when it comes to picking the right X5 model. This SUV offers four trim levels, all available with a 3.0-liter gas engine or a 4.4-liter gas engine. Choose from rear- wheel or all-wheel drive paired with an eight-speed shiftable automatic transmission.Standard features across all trims include heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, rain-sensing windshield wipers, customizable ambient lighting, power-adjustable steering column, panoramic sunroof and a power rear liftgate.
Popular upgrades like massaging seats, soft-close doors, leather dashboard, remote start, heated front armrests and heated steering wheel are optional but worth the uptick in price.
An Ideal Balance of Sporty Design and Luxury
The three distinct models in the 2020 BMW X5 lineup compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class and Audi Q7. Neither can match BMW's power with the 2020 model's 3.0-liter inline six- cylinder engine producing 355 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque.
Critics love BMW's stable handling and smooth ride. The xDrive50i goes from zero to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. The xDrive40i adds just 1.2 seconds to that time. The X5 also provides up to 7,200 pounds of towing power across all trim levels and for all engine options.
BMW retains its classic style while piling on driving perks like exquisite interiors, commanding infotainment systems and the most up-to-date driver-assist technology.
To make owning the X5 hassle-free, BMW offers complimentary scheduled maintenance services for three years or 36,000 miles. The limited warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles and the powertrain warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles.
The 2020 Lineup Now Includes the M50i Model
With 523 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque coming from a turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine, the M50i package beats out last year's comparable model by adding 67 hp and 74 lb-ft of torque to the 2019 xDrive50i.
The M50i comes standard with wireless phone charging capability, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and all-wheel drive. This trim level gets an EPA-estimated 23 mpg, matching the Mercedes GLE 450 but with 127 more horsepower. The BMW M50i also comes with standard M Sport Exhaust System, 20" wheels, M Sport Brakes, Aerodynamic kit, Cerium Grey elements, and Shadowline exterior trim. Sport Automatic transmission with paddle shifters is also standard.
Superior Technology
A digital gauge display is becoming popular with luxury SUVs, and BMW outfitted its 2020 X5 with two 12.3-inch displays to add a modern flair to its interior. One offers full access to BMW's iDrive software and the other is the X5's digital gauge display.
Drivers can access the digital display functions using the center console-mounted rotary knob, touching the screen, or using gesture controls.
Standard driver-assist features include automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert; the features you expect from a base-trim luxury SUV. Semi-autonomous driving mode is optional.
