While the engine does its work, both of these trim levels have an eight-speed automatic transmission, which provides an easy and smooth drive. This transmission has Sport, Comfort, Eco, and manual Modes with paddle shifters for more versatility and a drive option to fit your every mood.

Both cars have a rear-wheel-drive base to add to the car’s athleticism. However, an all-wheel-drive option is available in the 5-Series xDrive. Buyers can also choose one of the M models for additional performance. The most impressive BMW 5 Series specs are in the handful of M Series sedans. The M550i xDrive comes with a 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 with 523 horsepower, and the performance-tuned BMW M5 CS with 627 horsepower and a zero-to-60 time of 2.9 seconds.
