Both of these turbocharged engines have an I-4 layout that's optimized for powerful performance. All of these engines are paired with the eight-speed STEPTRONIC automatic transmission, which includes the Sport and Manual Shift modes.

When equipped with the Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, the BMW X1 and X3 get excellent traction on dry and wet roads. This innovative drivetrain can correct the slightest slipping in the wheels. The Dynamic Stability Control delivers extra balance to the AWD system especially in hazardous situations. With the Variable Sport Steering and Dynamic Damper Control, the BMW X3 offers superb handling even in the most challenging conditions.

Appearance

The 2017 BMW X1 and X3 have sporty profiles that enhance aerodynamic performance on the highway. Both of these crossover SUVs have the signature split grilles with vertical patterns.
